Make Your Own eBay Most Watched Page
Here's a simple form to create a most watched eBay auctions list like the one on MyTinToys.com. If you haven't seen that watched auctions page, here's a link that opens in a new window:
Most Watched eBay Toy Auctions
With this form, you can put as many categories as you want onto one page, but let's just do one category first, then I'll show you how to add more categories to your page.
Before you create your own most watched page you'll need the number for the category you want to watch. To get the category number go to eBay's Category List, and then go to the category or sub category you want to watch. (Sub categories are found in the left navigation pane of main categories.)
The numbers beside the categories on eBay's category list page are NOT the category numbers. That number is the number of active listings in the eBay category.
The category numbers are found in the URLs of category.
For example if you are looking at the Collectibles: Transportation category, you'll see this URL in your browser's address bar:
http://collectibles.listings.ebay.com/Transportation_W0QQfc lZ1QQsacatZ417QQsocmdZListingItemList
The category number is the numerals in red above. They are between catZ and QQ in the URL.
Here's another example showing the place holders in blue and the category number in red:
http://collectibles.listings.ebay.com/Transportation_Trucks_W0QQfc lZ1QQsacatZ35976QQsocmdZListingItemList
Once you know the category number, enter it and the name of the category into the form below. Then hit submit to create your own most watched items page.
At least once a week, a new article about Antiques, Collectibles, or eBay is placed in this section of the site. You can see previous articles in the column on the left. This is not a replacement for my regular emailed newsletter. The newsletter is usually two to three times as long and focuses on making money on eBay and/or achieving success in the antiques and collectibles business. Only about a third of the articles sent out as newsletters are posted on the site, so to avoid missing an issue sign up now using the blue box in the upper right hand corner of this web page.
